Advent is a liturgical season of reflection and mystery that leads us up to Christmas day, the day that we celebrate the birth of Jesus, our savior and king! We celebrate and observe Advent at Campbell UMC in several different ways. Here's what you'll want to know:

Giving to Haiti on behalf of family, friends, or loved ones is as easy as clicking on the UMCOR logo below. A new browser window will open and take you straight to the UMCOR site for online giving to UMCOR Advance #418325, the Haiti Emergency Fund.
Once you've completed your gift, we invite you to return here to this page and choose from the unique cards in the next section to print and give to any friends, family members, or loved ones on whose behalf you are giving your gift. You may also pick up pre-printed cards on Sundays in the Fellowship Hall, during the week in the church office, or from any of the Campbell staff.
Thank you for being a part of our congregation's Advent focus. Your gift is an affirmation to all that it is indeed not about the presents; rather, it's all about the presence!

If you would like to help us keep track of these gifts as a congregation, please check YES for Church/Local Unit Credit when prompted. Checking this box and selecting Campbell UMC simply allows the funds to be noted and reported to us as originating from this congregation. Your gift is still 100% tax-deductible, and 100% of your gift will still go to Haiti.
Gifts may also be made by check to Campbell UMC. Please clearly indicate on your check and on an included note that your gift is for Advent 2010 Haiti Relief. Gifts may be dropped off at the church or mailed to Campbell UMC, 1747 E Republic Rd, Springfield, MO 65804.
These cards were made with photos taken on Rev. Melissa Dodd's September, 2010 VIM trip to the town of Mellier, Haiti. It is with these beautiful faces and these precious lives in focus that the congregation at Campbell UMC has chosen to express its desire to be in relationship with God's children in Haiti. These gifts given to one another at Christmas are indeed the presence of Christ in a broken and hurting nation.
